This is a part-time position. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 12:00pm.

General Function:
The Coordinator is hired by and is responsible to the Chamber’s Board of Directors and is responsible for the day-to-day management of all Chamber functions and carrying out policies and duties established by the Board through an annual program of action.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works under the general supervision of the Board of Directors with Chairperson acting as primary contact.

  • Answer inquiries via walk-in, email, telephone, and mail about businesses, business opportunities, local or area events, and residential opportunities in the Kimball Area.
  • Coordinate with Kimball Economic Development Department to make sure that Kimball is represented at industry meetings, functions, and programs. Communicate business news, developments, and opportunities to the Board of Directors, as well as member businesses in the Kimball Area.
  • Assist in developing and implementing an annual Program of Work for the Kimball Banner County Chamber to promote Kimball as a location for business and residential opportunities.
  • As assigned, the staff member of the Chamber will take minutes of meetings and assist in preparing agendas, if not assigned to Board member.
  • Promote the Kimball area by using a variety of media: print ads, regional or state opportunities, internet, social media, welcome bags, and billboards. Create, as well as, distribute materials.
  • Plan educational seminars and motivational programs for businesses in the area that meet and greet the business public.
  • Attend meetings of the Chamber’s affiliations and update affiliations’ information as applicable.
  • Maintain business and community information on the website. Work with active entities such as the City, County, Visitors Committee, and Economic Development, to update data from businesses, have appropriate community photos, maintain a list of community facilities, and assist with entering community events on the calendar.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the office that will provide for an efficient operation and present an attractive “front door” to the community.
  • As the budget allows, attend training programs, professional conferences, seminars, and institutes as needed to develop networking opportunities and contribute to a more effective performance of job duties.
  • Responsible for all other duties assigned by the Board of Directors to support and enhance the organization’s successful achievement of its mission.
  • Periodically reach out to the membership to see what other ways the Chamber can assist them.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Possess general knowledge of business practices, operations, and needs
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Directors, employees, committees, members, government units, civic groups, and the general public
  • Highly proficient technology, computer, and business software skills (including social media)
  • Skill in customer service and problem resolution practices
  • Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands
  • Skill in working under pressure of deadlines, maintaining a professional demeanor during stressful situations, and establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with employees, officials, other agencies and the general public
  • Ability to work independently on projects
  • Ability to think outside the box and develop creative and practical solutions
  • Prefer someone with QuickBooks experience and basic accounting skills
  • Valid Nebraska Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one.
